What is the rehabilitation method for baby's clubfoot?

Baby's foot valgus refers to the baby's heel deviating outward. It is a common deformity caused by abnormal development of the baby's foot. If the baby's foot problem is not treated in time, it will have a certain impact on the baby's growth and development. When the baby has the phenomenon of valgus foot, it can be corrected with the help of a doctor and basically restored to normal. The rehabilitation treatment of baby's foot valgus has the following aspects.

Exercise therapy:

1. Reduce the tension of calf triceps and hamstring muscles.

2. Squat training: the knee joint should be flexed 9 degrees when squatting, and the knee joint should be 140-160 when standing to avoid hyperextension of the knee.

3. Prone calf flexion and extension training can improve hamstring tension and increase knee joint stability. Single-leg and double-leg kneeling training is helpful to improve knee joint control ability.

4. Crawling training with the knee flexed is beneficial to correct knee prolapse, while increasing the ability to control the knee joint and coordinate its movement ability. Knee flexion and extension is a dorsiflexion training, which improves the strength of the extensor muscles and coordinates the ability of the antagonist muscles.

5. Stretch and strengthen the calf triceps. Let the child put the front foot on the step and the heel on the ground. Train the child to put down the heel and lift the front heel. This is the strength training most needed during the swing period.

6. Bridge training can enhance the strength of extensor muscles, promote hip flexion and extension, and correct trunk flexion.

7. Up and down stair training is very effective in correcting knee hyperextension and coordinating steps. Pay attention to keeping the knee slightly bent.

8. Weight-bearing therapy training helps improve knee stability and increase proprioception twice a day.
