What causes children to have bad tempers?

Some children have a bad temper. There are many reasons for this, including physiological reasons and improper parenting methods. If it is a physiological reason, it is generally related to the child's bile secretion. In addition, it also has a more important relationship with genetics. For parents, acquired education and influence are also important factors that cannot be ignored. If the educational method is inappropriate and the child is spoiled, it is easy for the child to have a bad temper.

1. The child has a choleric temperament

Children who are prone to temper tantrums may have a choleric temperament, which means that their nervous system is highly excitable, they are very enthusiastic, have a straightforward attitude, and are full of energy, but they are also easily discouraged. Children with this temperament type, under the influence of the acquired environment, if they receive good education and guidance, will become proactive, cheerful, enthusiastic and energetic people; if they are not guided properly, they may also develop into anxious, willful and irritable people.

2. Parents’ parenting style is not appropriate

Overindulgence can also cause children to lose their temper. When a child occasionally loses his temper, parents may show some kind of appreciation because the child is still young and the little look of losing his temper is cute. However, the child’s temper behavior will not only not be curbed, but will grow instead, forming a vicious circle. Unconditionally meeting all the demands of a child will make the child develop an "I am the only one" mentality. Once a request is not met, he will cry and make a fuss. Parents often give in to their love for their children, which further encourages the child's temper tantrum habit.

3. Problems in interaction between parents and children

Children who have a bad temper and are difficult to control are also signs of poor interaction between parents and children. Touching, fiddling with, and even tasting favorite things with their mouths are extremely natural behaviors for children and are one of the main ways they explore the outside world. Out of consideration for their children's health and safety, parents may restrict their children's natural exploration behavior. If parents do not handle it correctly, it will cause a conflict between control and counter-control between parents and children, causing the child's temper to erupt.

4. Parents’ words and deeds affect their children

Every word and action of parents will leave a very deep impression on their children. Imitation is a child's nature, and parents are their first teachers. Therefore, parents' words, deeds, manners, temperament, temper, actions, etc. will have a subtle influence on their children.

5. Parents are too strict with their children

If the child makes the slightest mistake or fails to do what is asked or does it poorly, the parents will scold the child severely or even beat him/her severely. This practice will lead to two undesirable consequences. First, it makes the child feel dissatisfied and depressed, and this dissatisfaction and depression will be manifested in some future occasions; second, the parents' actions provide a role model for the child to emulate, and once the environment is appropriate, the child will also exhibit the same irritable and aggressive behavior.
