Children are the group most susceptible to roundworms. When these worms appear in the stomach, the digestive and absorptive functions of the stomach and intestines will be seriously affected. If this continues for a long time, their complexion will become sallow, and their growth and development will be delayed. Parents may feel at a loss when encountering this situation, so the editor will now talk about the commonly used clinical treatment methods. 1. Antiparasitic treatment 1. Mebendazole: The dosage for children is 50-150 mg per day, and the dosage for adults is 100 mg each time, taken in the morning and evening for 3 consecutive days. If the worms are not completely expelled, a second course of treatment can be used after three weeks. This drug has a better effect in expelling ascarids. Side effects are rare. In large-scale infections, abdominal pain and diarrhea may occur when using this drug for expelling worms, but they are relatively mild. 2. Albendazole: It is a new broad-spectrum anthelmintic with the trade name of Enterococcus Qing. The dosage is 400 mg taken once. The efficacy is over 90%. However, in large-scale treatment, there are occasional reactions of vomiting roundworms in the mouth. 3. Levamisole: The dosage is 150 mg taken once. The drug's anthelmintic effect is not as good as tobendazole, but it is better than piperazine. The side effects are mild, and there are occasional nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, etc. A few patients develop mild liver damage after taking the drug. It should be used with caution in patients with liver and kidney diseases in early pregnancy. 2. Treatment of complications 1. Biliary ascariasis. Atropine, chlorpromazine or pethidine are used to relieve spasms and relieve pain; anthelmintic treatment should be carried out after the abdominal pain is relieved; antibiotics such as penicillin and streptomycin should be used in time to control bile duct infection. 2. Ascaris intestinal obstruction. Patients with incomplete intestinal obstruction should first receive medical treatment including sedation, antispasmodics, analgesia and gastrointestinal decompression. Deworming should be performed after the abdominal pain is relieved. Taking 80-150ml of soybean oil or peanut oil (60ml for children) can loosen the ascaris mass and relieve symptoms. Deworming can be performed 1-2 days after the symptoms disappear. Oxygen therapy can also loosen the ascaris. When complete obstruction occurs, surgical treatment should be performed. Generally speaking, this is the treatment method for ascariasis in children. Therefore, when parents find that their children have similar adverse conditions, they must not ignore it. They can take their children to the pediatric clinic for a detailed abdominal examination in time so that effective drug treatment can be carried out as soon as possible. |
