What are the early symptoms of cerebral palsy in babies?

Cerebral palsy is a very dangerous disease that threatens the life of newborns. With the worsening of environmental pollution, the number of newborns with cerebral palsy in our country is increasing. There are many causes of cerebral palsy in newborns, most of which are caused by substantial damage to brain cells, which in turn affects the central nervous system, motor dysfunction, mental retardation and other symptoms. More serious patients may even affect the child's life.

Neonatal cerebral palsy refers to a non-progressive brain damage syndrome caused by various reasons within 1 month after birth, mainly manifested by central movement disorders and abnormal posture, and is often accompanied by multiple disorders such as intelligence, vision and hearing, eating, swallowing, speech, and behavior. The main impact of pediatric cerebral palsy on the child is movement disorders. Some parents think that the abnormal crying of newborns is a normal phenomenon, but for some it is an early manifestation of cerebral palsy.

The specific manifestations of cerebral palsy in babies include body weakness and reduced spontaneous movements, which are symptoms of low muscle tone and can be seen at one month old. If it persists for more than 4 months, it may be diagnosed as severe brain damage, mental retardation or muscle system disease. If a 3-4 month old baby has body torsion, it often indicates extrapyramidal system damage. If a 3-4 month old baby has strabismus and poor eye movements, it may indicate the presence of brain damage. If the child is unable to reach out and grasp objects at 4-5 months old, he or she may be diagnosed with mental retardation or cerebral palsy.

In addition to the main symptoms introduced above, its early symptoms also mainly manifest as mental retardation, growth retardation, etc. Babies over 6 months old with developmental retardation and mental retardation are very likely to be early symptoms of cerebral palsy. Parents of babies with cerebral palsy should give more observation and care. While carrying out various drug treatments, early rehabilitation training should not be neglected. Rehabilitation training takes a relatively long time and requires parents to persist in it.
