What should I do if my baby has a blocked nose and snores when sleeping?

Many children will suffer from nasal congestion even when they do not have a cold due to some physiological factors or their own physical fitness. This symptom is called a stuffy nose. However, many children do not know how to deal with this situation, which can cause anxiety in the children and helplessness for the mothers. Here, let me explain the causes and treatments of nasal congestion.

1. Wet compress

If you feel that your baby's breathing is a little difficult and the breathing sounds are too heavy, you may suspect that he has nasal congestion. At this time, use a wet towel to apply hot compress to the base of the baby's nose, which can temporarily relieve nasal congestion.

2. Use a wet cloth

If your baby has a runny nose, wet a soft towel or gauze, take a corner and twist it clockwise into a cloth twist, gently insert it into the baby's nasal cavity, then twist it counterclockwise and pull it outwards to bring out the nasal secretions. Repeat this several times.

A nasal aspirator can also clear nasal secretions, but it is not necessary to use it when the secretions are small.

3. Let your baby sneeze

If your baby has nasal crusts, the easiest way is to let the baby cry for a while, wait for the tears to soak the nasal crusts and soften them, then use a cloth twist to stimulate the nasal passages, make the baby sneeze, and knock out the nasal crusts, or hit the front nasal passages, and then gently pull out the nasal crusts with your hands.

Although we all know and are very clear about the reasons for nasal congestion, there are many factors that cause nasal congestion. Not every symptom of nasal congestion is caused by a cold. Therefore, through this article, everyone should remain calm when nasal congestion occurs and relieve nasal congestion for children in time.
