If there are no symptoms listed above, what should parents do?

1. Observe, don’t rush to pick up

First, observe the main parts of the baby's body where he fell, whether his muscles and bones are injured, and whether there are any abnormalities in the swinging of his hands and feet. If so, picking up the baby in time will only aggravate the injury.

Secondly, look at the posture of falling. If the person is lying prone, there will generally not be any big problem. If the person is lying flat, the back of the head may be injured, so you should pay more attention and observe.

2. Pay attention to the posture of holding the baby

If you find that the baby is fine after observation, be very careful when picking up the baby and never shake the baby to avoid aggravating mild symptoms.

The correct way is to let the baby lie on your shoulder, stroke the baby's back and comfort him to divert the baby's attention.

3. Don’t put him to sleep right away

If your baby is really sleepy, you should wake him up an hour after he falls asleep. If he keeps crying after waking up, there should be no problem.

Because normal children will express their feelings by crying when they are woken up or something makes them feel uncomfortable.

4. Do not massage when reducing swelling

If a bump appears on the head, you can apply cold compress to reduce swelling, or rub some sesame oil, but be sure not to massage the head when applying the medicine to avoid further damage to the capillaries, which may cause blood stasis and backflow, leading to serious consequences.

5. Less activity

After the baby falls and hits his head, he should be observed for two days. During these two days, try to let him rest more and move less. If you remain in good spirits and have a normal appetite within two days, you can rest assured.

How to prevent accidents to babies?

1. Baby turning over period

When the baby is three months old, he starts to learn to roll over, so you must pay special attention to the baby's safety at this time. Since babies cannot roll over yet, many parents will leave their babies alone on the bed or sofa without worry, but they ignore that three-month-old babies are in the period of learning to roll over. Often when they turn around, they find that the baby has fallen off the bed. Generally speaking, this will not cause much harm to the baby. What is worth worrying about is whether the baby's head is hit during the fall, which may cause concussion or cerebral hemorrhage.

[Preventive measures] When the baby grows up to the point where he can roll over, create a safe environment for the baby to grow up in, for example: lay some soft cushions or thick carpets on the floor in advance, add bed rails to the side of the bed, lower the height of the crib mattress, etc.

It is worth mentioning that the height of the space where the baby often moves should not exceed 2 feet. The baby starts crawling at 8 months old, and exploring the world becomes a big event in his life. During this period, as his world expands, the number of unexpected situations also increases, so parents have to be more careful.

The most serious case of foreign body swallowing is that the foreign body blocks the airway and causes suffocation.

[Precautions] Keep the floor, bed, carpet and other places clean. Do not place small objects that are easy to swallow, such as coins and small buttons, in the baby's activity space. Choose safe toys to prevent toy accessories from falling off, such as dolls' eyes, noses, or car wheels.
