What kind of pillow is good for children?

We use pillows every day, because we need to use pillows when we sleep, otherwise it may cause stiff neck. The pillows used by different groups of people are different. Children also need pillows when they sleep. Different types of pillows have different effects on our human body. So what kind of pillow is good for children?

The filling of baby pillows should preferably be natural and non-toxic, such as buckwheat husk, tea leaves, chrysanthemums, etc. It is important to dry the filling frequently to avoid mold caused by excessive sweat.

The new memory foam pillow filling material has good elasticity, breathability, and high plasticity. It can support the head and reduce head pressure, and is also a good choice for pillow cores. The best pillowcases are made of pure cotton and velvet, which are most absorbent and close to the skin.

Fillers such as mung beans, rice grains, and silkworm sand can make the baby's skull grow stronger and the head shape better looking. However, the skull of a baby is relatively soft, and the fontanelles and skull sutures have not yet completely closed. Long-term use of this hard pillow can easily cause skull deformation, or one side of the face to be larger and the other side to be smaller.

Generally speaking, babies can use baby pillows when they are about 3 months old. During this period, the baby's cervical spine has a forward physiological curvature. In order to maintain this physiological curvature and keep the body position comfortable, it is appropriate to start using a pillow at this time. The baby's pillow should be moderately soft and hard.

If the baby pillow is too soft, it cannot support the cervical spine well. Moreover, due to the large contact area with the baby's scalp, it is not conducive to blood circulation, has poor air permeability, and may even affect breathing, and may also cause the risk of suffocation.

Of course, it is not good to let the baby sleep with a baby pillow that is too hard. If the pillow is too hard, the baby's neck muscles will feel tired, which can easily cause a stiff neck. However, the baby's skull is relatively soft, and the fontanelles and skull lines have not yet completely closed. Long-term use will cause head deformation or an uneven face, affecting the appearance. At the same time, it will wear off the hair around the back of the head and cause baldness on the back of the head.
