Where should children receive general anesthesia?

When performing some surgeries, anesthesia must be used. Anesthesia is mainly divided into two categories: local anesthesia and general anesthesia. If the operation is relatively large, or the operation time is relatively long, or the operation will cause great psychological trauma to the patient, then it is best to use general anesthesia. After general anesthesia, the person will enter a coma and will not feel any pain at all. If a child needs general anesthesia, where should the anesthetic be injected?

Where can I get the general anesthesia injection for children?

We have several ways to perform general anesthesia for children. I just mentioned that inhalation anesthesia can be used. For inhalation anesthesia, we just need to inhale the anesthetic gas through a mask. Another type is intravenous anesthesia, which requires infusion. There are several options for injections. One is to give an intramuscular injection first. For example, you can give ketamine or some other medicine to make him fall asleep first, and then open his vein after he falls asleep. Another method is to let him fall asleep by inhalation first, and then open his veins. Another way is that if the child is cooperative and can explain clearly, we can open his vein directly, usually in the hand or foot, and we can just open the distal superficial vein.

If we are doing heart surgery or major surgery, we need to measure the central venous pressure, and we need blood transfusion and albumin transfusion, so we definitely need to establish a deep vein. For deep veins, we usually choose internal jugular vein puncture and catheterization, or femoral vein puncture and catheterization.

In this case, consider general anesthesia for children, general intravenous anesthesia, and administer anesthetic drugs intravenously.

Suggestions: It is recommended to pay attention to rest, fasting before general anesthesia, and check and treat at the local regular hospital's pediatric surgery department

Problem Analysis: General anesthesia is usually performed at the lumbar spine. There are subarachnoid anesthesia and epidural anesthesia. Please follow the doctor's instructions.

Suggestions: Pay attention to diet, rest, ensure nutrition, and seek medical advice and treatment if necessary

General anesthesia is divided into total intravenous anesthesia, total inhalation anesthesia and combined intravenous and inhalation anesthesia. However, the veins must be opened before general anesthesia. To put it simply, it is to insert an intravenous needle, or to give an IV, insert a cannula, etc. If necessary, the anesthesiologist will choose to insert a catheter into the internal jugular, subclavian or femoral vein, but general anesthesia is performed by inserting a catheter into the large blood vessels of the upper limbs (usually the forearm or elbow). If it is a child, the scalp vein is generally chosen.
