The head develops rapidly after birth, increasing by 8-10 cm in the first half of the year and 2-4 cm in the second half of the year. At one year old, the baby grows 12 cm taller than at birth, reaching 48 cm. The size of the head circumference is parallel to the weight of the brain. People with larger head circumferences also have larger brain weights. Although the size of the head circumference cannot indicate the development of the brain, if its size exceeds the normal range, it should attract the attention of parents.
