What causes abdominal pain and vomiting in children?

Children are prone to abnormal conditions in their daily lives. Parents should pay attention to some emergencies and take timely treatment measures, especially when abdominal pain and vomiting occur. I believe parents have encountered such situations. Many parents don’t know what is going on and will be very anxious. Therefore, they should go to the hospital for examination in time to see what is going on.

Children's abdominal pain and vomiting are considered to be caused by gastroenteritis. They can take Huoxiang Zhengqi soft capsules, berberine tablets and belladonna tablets for symptomatic treatment. Severe diarrhea or vomiting may require intravenous fluids. Eat regularly, at regular times and in regular amounts, avoid overeating, and reduce the burden on the gastrointestinal tract.

Symptoms of gastroenteritis

The type and severity of gastroenteritis symptoms depend on the type and amount of the microorganism or toxin. The most common symptom is diarrhea. Other symptoms include: abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, loss of appetite, weight loss (which may be a sign of dehydration), heavy sweating, cold and clammy skin, muscle pain or joint stiffness, fecal incontinence, etc.

Severe vomiting and diarrhea can quickly lead to dehydration, the symptoms of which include weakness, extreme thirst, oliguria or darker urine, dry skin, dry mouth, sunken eyes, and infants may cry with fewer tears. Severe vomiting or diarrhea can cause hyponatremia, hypokalemia, hypotension, etc. Patients who drink large amounts of water with little or no salt to replenish their fluids are particularly susceptible to hyponatremia. Fluid and electrolyte imbalances are potentially dangerous, particularly in seriously ill, debilitated, very young, or elderly patients; severe cases may result in shock and renal failure.

There are many reasons that can cause abdominal pain and vomiting in children. If it is caused by gastroenteritis, you should follow the doctor's instructions for treatment. You should also pay more attention to your child's health and pay more attention to their diet, especially food hygiene, to avoid the occurrence of certain diseases.
