What should children pay attention to after being vaccinated against chickenpox?

Chickenpox is a disease that children are more likely to suffer from. Because many parents do not take this into consideration, they regret it after their children become ill. In fact, many hospitals now have chickenpox vaccines. Just like other vaccines, it can be vaccinated on time. This will greatly reduce the chance of children getting chickenpox. So, what should children pay attention to after getting chickenpox?

1. Children with a history of fever, allergies, those in the recovery period of acute infectious diseases, those with immunodeficiency or receiving immunosuppressant treatment, or those with serious organic diseases should not be vaccinated with varicella vaccine.

2. Do not feed your child milk within 30 minutes to 1 hour after vaccination. This is because if the child is sucking milk from a bottle when convulsions occur after vaccination, it is very likely to cause pneumonia.

3. Avoid using aspirin within six weeks after vaccination. After receiving the varicella vaccine, it is best not to come into contact with patients with varicella within 1 month, because it still takes some time to produce enough antibodies after vaccination.

4. Observe your child’s reaction carefully. Based on experience, abnormal symptoms may appear at least ten minutes and at most ten days after vaccination. Do not put your baby to sleep on his or her stomach.

Do not place your baby on his or her stomach to sleep after vaccination, as seizures or breathing difficulties can be life-threatening.

5. Consult a doctor if side effects occur. After vaccination, if the baby has a high fever over 40 degrees Celsius, or cries for more than 3 hours within 48 hours, has convulsions, or has a severe allergic reaction, then you should consult a doctor before deciding whether and when to get the next vaccination. After vaccination, please observe at the vaccination site for 15-30 minutes and leave only after no abnormal reactions occur.
