How to turn the foreskin of a child

Nowadays, many children have the phenomenon of foreskin that is too long. Generally, the foreskin that is too long can be turned upwards to clean the dirt inside and prevent the residual mud and dirt from causing bacterial infection. In addition to turning the foreskin upwards, it is not recommended to perform surgery too early for phimosis in children. You can wait and see after puberty. If it still has not recovered after puberty, it needs to be removed surgically.

It is normal if your foreskin can move up and down. Although it may be a little painful now, it will gradually disappear because the foreskin is also very elastic. Of course this won't happen after the operation. However, whether surgery is necessary should be determined by consulting a urologist at the hospital. If the foreskin is neither long nor narrow, can be flipped up and down, and does not affect sexual life, surgery is not necessary.

3. Rub it more, and slowly the foreskin will turn up. It will not turn up automatically. It will turn up slowly. It will be a little painful at the beginning, but it will be fine later.

Almost all children have problems with their foreskin, namely phimosis and prepuce being too long. Phimosis is a condition in which the foreskin opening is narrow, so that the foreskin cannot be fully retracted. If the foreskin is too long, it covers all or part of the glans penis and can be completely turned up. If the foreskin is too long, there may also be a narrow ring at the foreskin opening.

In fact, most cases of phimosis in children are caused by excessive foreskin, which has membranous adhesions to the glans penis and can be turned back to expose the glans penis. You can ask a doctor to help gently lift up the foreskin, remove the smegma, apply clean medical paraffin oil on the glans penis (to prevent adhesion of inflammatory cellulose), and then roll the foreskin back into place (to prevent edema caused by foreskin incarceration). In the future you can turn it over and clean it often, but you still have to turn it over after washing. Over time, the narrow ring at the foreskin opening will disappear, and the glans penis will be easily exposed.

For daily cleaning of children's foreskin, just use clean water, no soap, lotion or medicine is needed. When it becomes red (inflammation), it can be soaked and cleaned with light salt water.

As the penis grows and develops, it often grows faster than the foreskin, and in some boys the glans penis will be completely exposed after puberty. Therefore, if a child has phimosis or foreskin that is too long and does not affect urination, surgery can be performed after puberty (15-16 years old), but the area should be kept clean and checked regularly to avoid inflammation as much as possible, so as to prevent inflammatory adhesion between the foreskin and the glans penis, which may affect the surgical effect. If inflammation occurs frequently, surgery should be performed as soon as possible.

Pediatric circumcision generally requires general anesthesia and 2-3 days of hospitalization. After puberty, surgery can be performed under local anesthesia.
