Quick way to treat runny nose due to cold in baby

In traditional Chinese medicine, colds are called superficial symptoms. The first organ attacked by respiratory bacteria is the lungs, and the nose is connected to the lungs. Therefore, patients with colds usually have runny noses. This is an emergency response of the nasal mucosa to prevent bacterial invasion. So, how to effectively treat the problem of runny nose when your baby catches a cold? In life, there are many little tricks to help babies clear their nasal passages. Let’s take a look at them.

When a baby has a cold and a runny nose, in addition to medication and home care, parents can also use some folk remedies for the baby, which can also effectively relieve the symptoms. The folk remedies for treating baby's cold and runny nose include hot towel application, steam inhalation, vinegar fumigation, ginger tea therapy, hot air blowing on the face, etc.

1. Hot towel method: When you have a cold and a runny nose, you can put a clean towel in a basin of boiling water, take it out and apply it to the top of your head after it cools down a little. It is generally best to apply hot compress for 10 minutes before going to bed at night.

2. Steam inhalation method: Fill a thermos with boiling water, place your nostrils above the thermos, take deep breaths for 10-15 minutes, inhale the steam, once a day.

3. Vinegar fumigation method: Take 200-400 ml of vinegar, place it on the stove, close the doors and windows, and fumigate for half an hour to one hour, which can effectively prevent and treat colds.

4. Ginger tea therapy: Take appropriate amounts of ginger and tea leaves, and make tea or soup to drink. Taking it for 3 consecutive days can relieve cold symptoms and shorten the course of the disease. The effect will be better if brown sugar is added.

5. Hot air blowing on the face: Aim the hair dryer at the temples on both sides, blowing alternately for 3-5 minutes, 3 times a day, which can quickly relieve symptoms such as runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, and headache.
