Compared with full-term babies, the care of premature babies deserves more attention. If the child is a premature baby, we must make sure they maintain the correct sleeping position and pay attention to the moderate amount of milk they drink to eliminate the possibility of any infectious diseases. 1. The baby can sleep for about 20 hours a day within a few days after birth, which means that except for breastfeeding, the baby is basically in a sleeping state. 2. Sleeping in the supine position can relax muscles throughout the body and put minimal pressure on the newborn's heart, gastrointestinal tract and bladder. However, when lying on the back, the root of the tongue relaxes and falls backwards, which may affect the patency of the airway. Therefore, the sleep condition of the newborn should be closely observed. 3. For babies who sleep on their side, parents should adjust the left and right direction appropriately to avoid causing facial imbalance. It is not recommended for newborn babies to sleep in the prone position as it is prone to accidental suffocation. 4. It is recommended to place the baby in a cradle or crib with protective rails on both sides of the bed. Don't dress or cover your baby too thickly. 5. Babies should sleep in a warm and comfortable place. The temperature of the sleeping environment should be 24℃-25℃ and the humidity should be around 50%. The light should not be too strong when sleeping at night, try to create a soft and quiet environment. 6. Shaking the baby's brain will cause it to vibrate inside the skull cavity, causing small blood vessels on the surface of the brain tissue to rupture. In mild cases, it may cause epilepsy, mental retardation, and limb paralysis. In severe cases, it may cause cerebral edema and brain hernia, which are life-threatening. So don't shake the baby to sleep. 7. The mother should not sleep with the baby, because if the mother is not careful after falling asleep, she may press down the baby and cause suffocation of the baby. 8. Babies under 3 months old may experience physiological startle, which is a normal phenomenon caused by immature brain development and does not require any treatment. 9. The amount of milk can be determined according to the child's weight. Generally speaking, 150 to 180 ml of milk is needed per kilogram of body weight per day. A baby weighing 2.5 kg can be fed 350 to 450 ml per day. Feed 7 to 9 times a day or on demand. 10. Do not let premature babies get infected with diseases. No one except the person who takes care of the baby should get close to the baby. Do not feed cats and dogs at home because they often carry germs. The indoor air should be fresh and windows should be opened frequently for ventilation. |
