How should parents massage their babies?

Massage is a medical method that has many benefits for both children and parents. Many parents do not know how to massage their babies. In fact, when massaging a child, you should massage different parts of the child's body separately, and be gentle as the principle.

1. Legs

You can start with the legs, as they are less sensitive than some parts of your baby's body. Dip your hands in a little oil, hold one of the baby's thighs, and stroke it down, alternating hands. At the same time, gently pinch the baby's flesh, as if you are "milking" his leg. Then, switch legs and repeat the above steps.

2. Feet

Grab one of your baby's feet and gently rotate it in a clockwise and counterclockwise direction a few times. Then, stroke the top of your baby's foot from ankle to toes. Switch to the other foot and repeat the above steps.

3. Soles of feet

Use your thumbs to massage the soles of each of your baby's feet in circular motions.

4. Toes

Pinch one of your baby's toes between your thumb and index finger and gently stroke it toward the tip. Stroke each toe once. This completes the foot massage.

5. Arms

Hold one of your baby's arms with your hand and repeat the milking motion from the armpit to the wrist. Then, hold your baby's hand and gently twist your wrist several times in a clockwise and counterclockwise direction. Repeat the above steps with your baby's other arm.

6. Hands

Use your two thumbs to massage your baby's palms in small circles.

7. Fingers

Pinch one of your baby's fingers between your thumb and index finger, and gently stroke it, allowing his finger to slide off naturally. Stroke each finger.

8. Chest

Place your hands in prayer position over your baby's heart. With your palms flat, gently stroke your baby's chest toward the sides of the body. Repeat several times.

Place one hand across the upper part of your baby's chest. Gently stroke down to his thigh. Alternate hands and repeat several times.

9. Back

Lay your baby down on his or her stomach. Use your fingertips to make small circles on either side of your baby's spine, from the neck down to the hips.

Use your palm to stroke from the baby's shoulders to the baby's feet with a little force, and repeat several times. When you're done, put your baby in a diaper and cuddle or feed him. Your baby will most likely fall asleep quickly.
