How to educate autistic children

The education of autistic children needs special attention. We must pay attention to understand the causes of children's autism. If parents find that their children have these tendencies in life, they must take them to see a doctor in time.

1. Although the cause of autism is unknown, it can still be effectively treated and prevented

The main treatment measures adopted are comprehensive, including behavioral therapy, education and training, such as language training, social training, sensory integration training, daily life self-care training, game activities, etc., supplemented by drug therapy. However, not every autistic person needs to take medication, and there is currently no specific drug for the treatment of autism. During the treatment process, parents and therapists should cooperate closely and actively participate. With more teaching, more practice, constant reinforcement, and long-term persistence, children can make significant progress and their condition can be actively and effectively controlled;

2. Parents should take their children suspected of having autism to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.

Diagnosis by a specialist (child neuropsychiatrist, psychologist, and health care professional), early diagnosis, and early treatment are the key to successful treatment. Because the age, clinical manifestations, and functional impairment of children with autism vary, treatment needs to be tailored to each individual. Before treatment, the attending physician and parents will jointly assess the child's basic psychological functions, such as language, social interaction, motor behavior, living ability and other developmental levels, and then formulate an individualized, structured and systematic treatment plan;

3. Improve children's stereotyped behaviors and avoid repetitive actions

Behavioral stereotyping is one of the obstacles for every autistic child. Try to help him find things or activities that interest him, use other activities or toys to attract his attention, and don't let him do nothing, so that he won't feel too bored and keep repeating the same actions. In addition, making these repetitive movements meaningful is also one of the ways to improve stereotyped behaviors. For example, if your child likes to shake his body, you can play music and let him shake his body in different ways to the music.
