What should I do if my child has a mild fever?

It is normal for children to have a low fever, especially when the seasons change. If you are not careful, children can easily catch a cold and have a fever. When a child shows symptoms of fever, parents will definitely be very worried. In fact, even if the child has a low fever, parents will also be very nervous. Therefore, many parents believe that the only way to solve the problem is to go to the hospital for an injection. In fact, if the child only has a mild low-grade fever, it is not recommended for parents to take the child to the hospital. Physical therapy should be used to alleviate the condition.

Methods/Steps

1. Drink more warm water, vegetable juice and fruit juice. Let your baby drink more water and replenish body fluids. This is the most basic way to reduce fever. Very effective. Do not give your baby cold water. It is essential to drink plenty of water and remember not to take medicine indiscriminately. When a child has a fever, he breathes quickly and sweats a lot, causing a large loss of water in the body. Providing your baby with enough water to increase urine output can both reduce temperature and promote the excretion of toxins from the body.

2. Take a warm water bath and wipe your whole body with a wet towel. The water temperature should be between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius. Each wiping time should be more than 10 minutes, and the key areas to be wiped are the skin wrinkles, such as the neck, armpits, elbows, groin, etc.

3. Warm water bath: The water temperature should be about 3 to 4 degrees lower than the child's body temperature, for 5 to 10 minutes a day. Many parents think that babies cannot be bathed when they have a fever. In fact, on the contrary, giving babies a warm bath can help cool them down.

4. Low-temperature chamber method: Place the sick child in an environment with a room temperature of about 24 degrees to slowly lower the body temperature. In order to allow the skin to come into contact with the outside air and help cool down, you need to wear less clothes.

Precautions

A child's fever below 38.5℃ is not a very serious symptom, but parents should not take it lightly. Pay attention to your child's mental state, measure your child's body temperature regularly, keep the room ventilated, and always have antipyretic drugs at home for babies over six months old, preferably Chinese patent medicine.

In fact, it is very simple to treat a child's low fever. All parents have to do is to give their children more water. If the fever still does not subside after the child drinks more boiled water, parents can give the child a warm water bath. However, parents must remember that the water temperature must be appropriate. Parents must also pay attention to the child's warming measures after these months. In terms of diet, the child should eat more light food that is easy to digest, preferably rich in calories.
