It has to be said that this is very sad. You should know that myopia is generally incurable, especially when the degree is relatively high. So the question is, can a five-year-old child recover from myopia?

If this is the degree of myopia after mydriasis refraction, that is, true myopia, drug treatment will have no effect. Glasses must be worn. However, considering that your myopia and astigmatism are not very high, you do not need to wear glasses often. You can wear glasses when looking at distant objects, and not wear them when looking at close objects.

In terms of diet, eat more foods containing vitamin A and vitamin C. Pay attention to using your eyes properly to avoid visual fatigue. Read a book or use the computer for an hour and then take a 5-10 minute break. For the treatment of astigmatism, go to a professional optician center, where the optometrist will prescribe glasses for you based on the degree of your myopia and astigmatism.

Disease prevention and care

Generally speaking, myopia among teenagers is initially "pseudomyopia". It is a functional myopia caused by excessive use of the eyes and tense accommodation. If it is not treated with antispasmodic treatment in time, it will develop into true myopia over time.

Preventive measures must first cultivate good hygiene habits in children from an early age.

1. Cultivate their correct reading and writing posture, and avoid lying on the table or twisting the body. The book and eyes should be kept one foot away, the body should be kept a fist (for an adult) away from the desk, and the hand should be one inch away from the tip of the pen. School desks and chairs should be suitable for students' body shapes.

2. Do not read or write for too long. Take a 10-minute break after 30-40 minutes. Look into the distance, look at more green plants, and do eye exercises. (Today’s handheld devices and computers can be used at about the same distance as reading and writing, so be careful about the time you use them.)

3. There should be appropriate lighting for writing and reading, and it is best if the light comes from the left. Do not read or write in light that is too dark or too bright to reduce the burden on students. Ensure 10 minutes of rest between classes to reduce visual fatigue.

4. Actively carry out physical exercise to ensure that students have one hour of physical activity every day.

5. Teach students to write words not too small or too densely, and not to write slanted or cursive. Don't write for too long.
