How to correct mild stuttering

Although stuttering is not a disease, it has a serious impact on the patient's life. Even mild stuttering can cause great distress to the patient. However, mild stuttering can be restored to normal through certain correction methods. However, because many friends do not know how to correct mild stuttering, they will always be in a state of stuttering. So here we will learn about the correction methods for mild stuttering.

1. Organize some commonly used sentences and write them down at the beginning. The shorter the sentence, the better. Speak word by word, and require yourself to read each word only once without repeating yourself. You can slow down the reading at the beginning. If you are not reading smoothly, it is better to pause for a while rather than repeat. When you become familiar with speaking, you will speak fluently.

2. Relax your mind when talking. Try playing some light music and reading the newspaper while listening. Don't be nervous, just treat it as a pastime. Reading newspapers helps to train your speaking sentences to be complete and fluent.

3. When watching TV programs, imitate the announcer's speech sentence by sentence. You don't need to follow the entire program from beginning to end. Just learn whatever sentence sounds good to you, and follow whatever sentence you have heard completely.

4. Try to say hello to some people you don’t normally know (such as sales clerks in shopping malls, newspaper vendors at newsstands, children from nearby neighborhoods... Since you don’t know these people and they have no impression or prejudice against you, you can say a word or two to them without any psychological pressure). Just say one or two simple words. Think before you speak, and try to make the sentence fluent. Don't be in a hurry to speak. The more anxious you are, the worse your speech will be.

Now you should be clear about how to correct mild stuttering. By exercising according to the above methods, you can solve the problem of mild stuttering. I would also like to remind all patients and friends that stuttering is not a shameful thing. If patients have a psychological burden because of this, it will only make the road to correcting stuttering more difficult and the treatment more difficult.
