How to deal with baby earwax

Babies' ears are not fully developed yet, and doctors have advised not to pick out baby's earwax casually. However, as babies grow up, dirt begins to appear in their ears. Many mothers believe that earwax is harmful to babies. Many mothers use cotton swabs to pick out baby's earwax. In fact, this is wrong. It is easy to hurt the baby's ears. There is still some harm in frequently picking out baby's earwax. So how to deal with baby's earwax?

Treatment of baby earwax:

1. If the earwax in the baby's ears can be seen with the naked eye and is not very hard, you can use a wet towel, slowly put it into the baby's ear and rotate it to remove the earwax. But the premise is to ensure that the baby will not move around.

2. Prepare a cotton ball dipped in disinfectant and put it into the baby's ear when the baby is asleep. Rotate the cotton ball after about 2-3 hours and take it out after a while. This way, some earwax will be stuck on the cotton ball and brought out. This method has less impact on the baby's ears.

3. Unless there are special circumstances, parents should avoid using cotton swabs or sharp objects to clean the baby's earwax, because the ear canal of a baby is much shorter than that of an adult, and it is difficult for parents to perceive and control it. If the baby feels uncomfortable in the ear, it is still necessary to go to a specialized pediatrician.

Through the above understanding, it is generally recommended that babies do not need to deal with earwax if there is not much earwax, or they can use a cotton swab to gently clean the entrance of the external auditory canal. If there is too much earwax, it is necessary to clean it, but you must be very careful if the cleaning is too long. Secondly, you should pay more attention to protecting the baby's ears. Earwax has a protective effect on the ear canal to a certain extent.
