So, how to massage children with tics?

1. Where should children with Tourette syndrome be massaged?

The massage techniques are different depending on the location of the twitching. For example, if the baby's facial twitching is severe, the parents can put their index and middle fingers together to press and rub the Baihui point. The Baihui point is located in the middle of the top of the head on the line connecting the two ears. Massage clockwise for ten to fifteen minutes, three to four times a day.

If the baby's upper limbs are twitching obviously, press the Hegu point alternately. The Hegu point is located at the midpoint of the intersection of the thumb and index finger on the back of the hand, ten minutes on each side, two to three times a day. Use the tips of your thumbs to massage the Neiguan, Shenmen, Lingdao, Fengchi, Taiyang, and Yuegu points on both sides for 1 minute each; push the Xiaotianxin, Qingxinjing and Liverjing 300 times each, and push the Kan Palace 10 times. After 21 treatments with the above method, sleep returned to normal and symptoms improved. Continue the treatment for ten times and there will definitely be results.

Symptoms of Tourette Syndrome in Children

It mostly occurs in boys aged 5 to 10 years old. It is a sudden, brief, repetitive, stereotyped twitching of one or two groups of muscles. It manifests as blinking, squinting, baring teeth, making funny faces, shrugging, turning the neck, nodding, twisting the body, shaking the arms or kicking the feet, twitching the lower limbs, etc. It intensifies when you are emotionally nervous, decreases when you are concentrating, and disappears during sleep. In one period, a certain group of muscles twitches mainly, manifesting as the same symptom; but in another period, another group of muscles twitches mainly, that is, the variability of symptoms. The course of the disease lasts from several months to 1 year. The frequency and severity of tics vary.
