Is it abnormal for children to yawn?

If a child does not yawn often and only yawns at night, and suddenly starts yawning all day long, it means that the child is not getting a good rest. The body is already a little sleepy, which is not good for children. Children must not be night owls. Only sufficient sleep can ensure the healthy growth of children. Staying up late often is not good for children's health. Let’s learn a little about yawning.

Yawning is a conditioned reflex of deep breathing, a physiological reaction controlled by the brain nerves when a person is tired. It expresses boredom, sleepiness, or relieves tension in daily life. A yawn lasts about 6 seconds, during which a person closes his eyes and ears, and the nerves and muscles of the whole body are completely relaxed. Yawning requires muscle movement in the face, so it can be suppressed by consciously clenching your teeth.

When a yawn begins, the muscles in the mouth and throat contract strongly, forcing the mouth open. At the same time, the chest cavity expands and the shoulders are raised, allowing the lungs to inhale more air than usual. When you exhale, a large amount of carbon dioxide is also expelled. When the carbon dioxide concentration in the blood drops to the normal range, it no longer stimulates the body's yawning reflex, so people will no longer yawn.

If you don't get a good night's rest, don't keep yawning. Let me teach you some tips to avoid the embarrassment of yawning all the time. Drink water when you want to yawn. Drinking water in small sips will prevent you from yawning. Eating more foods containing protein and magnesium can also reduce the number of times you yawn. Friends can refer to these tips and try them out.
