Why does a child's head sweat?

In life, sweating is actually a very normal physiological phenomenon. However, due to the weak constitution and low immunity of children, parents need to pay more attention when children sweat on their heads. In normal times, some children always sweat on their heads. So, why do children sweat on their heads? The editor will explain to you below, and I hope everyone will benefit from it.

Sweating is a common phenomenon among babies, which makes mothers very sensitive, but they don’t know much about it. Therefore, various doubts and misunderstandings often arise during the baby's growth and development. Sweating is a normal physiological function of the human body, which allows the body to regulate normal body temperature through the evaporation of water through the skin. But sometimes sweating is caused by certain diseases in the body, so in medicine there is a distinction between physiological sweating and pathological sweating.

* Physiological sweating

1. It is a response of the brain to external stimuli

Infants and young children are in a rapid stage of growth and development. Their metabolism is more vigorous than that of adults, and they are always active. In addition, their skin contains more water and their capillaries are widely distributed. More importantly, their bodies have poor ability to regulate cold and heat. Once they are stimulated or excited by the environment, more water is dissipated through the skin, especially in hot seasons, when the room temperature is too high, when the clothes or bedding are too thick, when they eat hot food quickly, or after activities.

2. The nervous system is not fully developed

When some mothers see their babies sweating a lot, they will first worry that their babies have rickets. In fact, excessive sweating is not necessarily a specific symptom of rickets. Because the nervous system functions of infants and young children are not yet fully developed, the high excitability of the sympathetic nerves can lead to excessive sweating.

As long as the baby does not have other abnormal symptoms, there is no need to think that it is abnormal. This type of sweating is different from rickets in that it is mostly caused by excessive activity during the day and excessive sweating after falling asleep at night. It often occurs within half an hour after falling asleep and is mainly seen above the head and neck, especially the forehead. The quilt is not wet, but sweating may also occur on the chest and back. But once you enter deep sleep, sweating will gradually decrease. As the baby's nervous system gradually develops, this sweating phenomenon will improve.

* Pathological sweating

1. The presence of internal diseases

Many diseases can cause it, such as malnutrition, active rickets, active tuberculosis, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, etc. However, at the same time as sweating, obvious symptoms of the primary disease will also appear.

2. There are neurological diseases in the body

If the sweating is localized or half-body, it is mostly caused by nervous system diseases, but it is also accompanied by various manifestations of nervous system diseases.

3. Fever

When the body has a fever, antipyretic drugs are used to induce sweating all over the body to lower the body temperature.

From the above, it can be seen that children's sweating on the head is related to many factors, and pathological factors and physiological factors are currently the main causes of children's sweating on the head. Generally speaking, when a child's head sweats frequently, the solution can be decided after finding out the corresponding cause.
