What causes sleepiness in teenagers?

With the importance and popularity of academic qualifications, the learning task for teenagers has become increasingly arduous and difficult. We have given up a lot of time for rest and sleep in order to get better grades. For the expectations of our parents, our children have also worked extremely hard and endured hardships. However, we do not know that this is not good for the growth of teenagers. Let me explain the problems of teenagers to you below.

First of all, adolescent sleepiness is generally believed to be caused by abnormal hypothalamic function, but it may also be related to organic lesions such as hypothalamic tumors, inflammation and trauma. Therefore, when teenagers experience the above-mentioned sleep abnormalities, parents should take them to the hospital's neurology department for examination in time to determine the cause.

Secondly, after confirming that the child suffers from narcolepsy, parents should urge the patient to take medication on time as prescribed by the doctor.

Third, not only should adolescent patients with sleepiness be provided with three meals a day, but each meal should also be nutritionally comprehensive. However, patients should not become obese due to overeating, as obesity is one of the causes of sleepiness. You can eat more fish. Eating more fish is good for learning and memory, and fish will not increase fat accumulation and cause obesity. Eat more seasonal vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins to ensure a balanced diet, which has a positive effect on maintaining normal functions of the human body, maintaining vigorous energy and relieving symptoms of drowsiness.

Fourth, parents need to encourage adolescents with narcolepsy to participate in more physical activities (at least one hour a day), develop good work and rest habits, and avoid letting patients travel long distances alone or engage in dangerous activities.

Of course, psychological support is very important for adolescents with hypersomnia. Don't think that children's sleepiness is a sign of laziness or that they are useless. Instead, understand that they are suffering because of the illness. Continue to encourage them and help them build confidence in recovery.

After reading this article, you should have some understanding of why children are sleepy and cannot concentrate in class. While letting children study hard, we parents should also pay attention to their eating habits and rest methods. We cannot let children study all the time, which is not of much use to children. Therefore, we must know how to let children arrange their time reasonably.
