What are the early signs of autism in children?

Many hospitals have recently reported that an increasing number of children are suffering from autism. Childhood autism is a type of autism. It occurs in children, so it is called childhood autism. Childhood autism is manifested in children's unwillingness to communicate with others, lack of love to communicate with others, and a tendency to depression. So today I will introduce to you how to treat autism in children.

Childhood autism is a subtype of pervasive developmental disorder, which is more common in males. The onset of the disease begins in infancy and is mainly manifested by varying degrees of speech development disorders, interpersonal communication disorders, narrow interests and stereotyped behaviors. About 3/4 of the patients have obvious mental retardation, and some children have good abilities in certain aspects despite their general intellectual disability.

Causes

It is not clear, but may be related to the following factors:

1. Genetics

The role of genetic factors in autism has become clear, but the specific mode of inheritance is still unclear.

2. Perinatal factors

Various perinatal complications, such as birth injury and intrauterine asphyxia, were more common than in the normal control group.

3. Immune system abnormalities

It was found that the number of T lymphocytes was decreased, the number of helper T cells and B cells was decreased, the inhibitory-inducing T cells were deficient, and the activity of natural killer cells was reduced.

4. Neuroendocrine and neurotransmitters

Associated with multiple neuroendocrine and neurotransmitter dysfunctions. Studies have found that the monoamine systems of autistic patients, such as 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) and catecholamines, are immature, and the pineal-hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis is abnormal, leading to increased 5-HT and endorphins and decreased secretion of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH).

1. Training intervention methods

Although there are many intervention methods for autism, most of them lack evidence-based medicine. There is no optimal treatment plan yet, and the best treatment method should be individualized. Among them, education and training are the most effective and main treatment methods. The goal is to promote the patient's language development, improve social interaction skills, and master basic life skills and learning skills. Because autistic patients are generally unable to adapt to life in ordinary kindergartens before school age, they receive education and training at home, in special education schools, and in medical institutions. After school age, the patient's language and social skills will improve. Some patients can go to ordinary primary schools to receive education with children of the same age, while some patients may still remain in special education schools.

2. Medication

Currently, drug treatment cannot change the course of autism, and there is a lack of specific drugs to treat core symptoms. However, drugs can improve some of the patient's emotional and behavioral symptoms, such as emotional instability, attention deficit and hyperactivity, impulsive behavior, aggressive behavior, self-harm and suicidal behavior, tics and obsessive-compulsive symptoms, and psychotic symptoms, which are beneficial to maintaining the safety of the patient himself or others and smoothly implementing educational training and psychotherapy.

The above is some common knowledge about childhood autism that we have introduced to you. It can be seen that this is a common autism. For the health of children, we must guide them to take the correct healthy path. Parents should communicate more with their babies and make them happy, so as to avoid psychological illnesses in their children. Finally, I wish all patients a speedy recovery.
