Seven-month-old baby sweats on the back of his head while sleeping

After seven months, the baby has grown a lot. The body's organs are gradually improving, but some children still have health problems. The symptoms are different for each child. Some seven-month-old babies sweat on the back of their heads when they sleep. This is a common phenomenon. The reasons are complex, as many of the baby's body systems are not fully developed. Therefore, it is necessary to check and treat this condition of the child. Why does a seven-month-old baby sweat on the back of his head when sleeping?

1. Sweating on the back of the baby's head when sleeping is normal metabolism.

Because the baby's sweat gland secretion is controlled by the autonomic nervous system (vagus nerve), if the vagus nerve is excited, the sweat will increase, mainly on the head and face. Under normal circumstances, things will gradually return to normal and sweat will decrease within an hour or two after sleeping.

2. If the baby is sweating a lot for a long time, parents should pay attention, because abnormal sweating may be a sign that the baby is sick.

(1) Excessive and prolonged sweating may be caused by autonomic nervous system dysfunction.

(2) The baby’s abnormal sweating may be caused by calcium deficiency. If some babies are not fed properly or have an unbalanced nutrition, their bodies will be weak and they will sweat easily after falling asleep. Especially for babies around one year old and babies before or after weaning, the probability of abnormal sweating on the back of the head is relatively high.

(3) Rickets can also cause abnormal sweating on the back of the baby's head, so we can regard the baby's sweating as a sign of rickets. Once discovered, go to the hospital for diagnosis.

(4) If the baby sweats a lot just before dawn and on an empty stomach, it may be hypoglycemia. Parents need to give the baby water and some high-calorie foods such as cake in time. It is best to take the baby to the hospital to see if other treatment measures are needed.

(5) If your baby often sweats for no reason in the second half of the night and the sweating does not subside after an hour or two, this is a common symptom of tuberculosis and parents must pay attention.
