Baby girl's vaginal bloodshot

Baby girl's vaginal bloodshot

Since babies have no self-care ability at birth, they need careful care from their parents. Parents need to provide all-round protection and examination for their babies every day. Every baby is the apple of their parents' eyes. If parents find any part of the baby is bleeding, they may be very worried. So what is happening with the baby girl's genitals? Let's take a closer look with the editor today.

It is a normal physiological phenomenon for newborn babies to have blood in their vagina and bloody secretions. Guidance: Some baby girls experience a small amount of vaginal bleeding 5-7 days after birth, which lasts for 1-3 days. This is because the mother's estrogen enters the baby's body during pregnancy and suddenly disappears after birth. This is normal and does not require special treatment.

During pregnancy, maternal estrogen enters the fetus and causes proliferation of the vaginal epithelium and endometrium. After birth, the influence of maternal estrogen is suddenly interrupted, and the proliferating vaginal epithelium and endometrium will fall off. As a result, white mucus, known as leucorrhea, is secreted. Some baby girls also have bloody vaginal discharge, which is called false menstruation. Guidance: Menstruation is physiological vaginal bleeding and is a normal phenomenon. After this happens, it usually lasts for one to two days, so parents don't need to worry.

Neonatal false menstruation is a special physiological phenomenon unique to normal newborns. The main reason is that during pregnancy, the level of sex hormones in the mother's body is much higher than usual. The fetus also has high hormone levels in the body. After birth, the body's technical level has not returned to the normal range, so some babies will have false menstruation, or even enlarged breasts and milk secretion. Generally, it will subside in two to three weeks, so there is no need to worry too much.

After the baby is born, the vaginal epithelium and endometrium proliferate. However, at this time, the influence of the mother's estrogen has been interrupted after the umbilical cord is cut off, and the proliferating vaginal epithelium and endometrium begin to fall off, causing vaginal bleeding. The vaginal bleeding will disappear naturally after a few days. But at this time it is important to pay attention to washing with warm water to prevent infection, because once infected, the newborn's resistance is weak and sepsis is likely to occur.
