Newborn girl has a lump in her breast

Newborn girls may also have pseudo-gynecological diseases in their bodies, so parents must pay close attention to changes in their newborn girls' bodies when taking care of them. For example, early childhood vaginitis is a problem that may occur in newborn girls. Some parents also find that newborn girls have enlarged breasts and lumps in the breast area. So what disease is related to the lumps in the breasts of newborn girls?

1. What is the reason for a hard lump in a baby girl's breast?

Some newborn girls or boys will have some seemingly abnormal but actually normal phenomena 7-10 days after birth: such as breast enlargement and chest lumps. These phenomena are because the baby is maintained by estrogen secretion in the mother's body, and the effect of inhibiting prolactin decreases rapidly after birth, and remains at a relative level within one month after birth. It does not drop to a very low level until about 6 weeks after birth, causing breast enlargement, and flaky breast tissue lumps or lumps of about 1 cm can be felt. Sometimes it can be caused by a small amount of milky secretions squeezed out of the nipple. Usually these phenomena are normal physiological phenomena of newborn babies, and parents do not need to worry too much.

2. What to do if a newborn baby girl has a lump on her chest

Parents should pay close attention and generally no treatment is needed, just be careful not to squeeze the chest. If a newborn girl has lumps and enlarged breasts, but the mammary glands are not red and the surface is not hot, do not rush to use medication. Usually these symptoms will gradually subside after 1-3 weeks. For a few babies, the symptoms may last for more than a month. Parents do not need to worry. Remember not to squeeze the baby's breasts. Stimulation of the breasts may cause infection. If any secretions flow out, just wipe them clean.

3. Is it early puberty if a newborn girl has a hard lump in her chest and is leaking milk?

A newborn girl having lumps in her breast and milk discharge is not a sign of precocious puberty. Regardless of whether the baby is a boy or a girl, the baby may have swollen breasts and yellow milk may flow out a few days after birth. This is a common physiological condition caused by the stimulation of progesterone in the mother's body to the newborn. It is not a criterion for judging the baby's precocious puberty. It is generally believed that girls can be diagnosed with precocious puberty only when they develop secondary sexual characteristics before the age of 8 or start menstruating before the age of 10, or when boys begin sexual development before the age of 10.
