What to do if your one-year-old baby has phimosis

For the growth and development of their babies, many parents will find that their children have phimosis. Phimosis has no effect on children of this age. As long as they are cleaned regularly, they are not easily infected. However, after puberty, as the body develops, phimosis will affect normal sexual life due to the wrapping of the glans. You can wait until after puberty to choose a treatment method based on observation.

Two ways.

1. Perform phimosis surgery when you are young. Children are too young to feel it. The advantage is that it is less painful because the child's nervous system is not yet well developed. Some sensations are not as strong as those of adults. And the wound will grow from childhood. When you grow up, you can hardly tell that you have had surgery, which means that the wound will be very natural and beautiful.

2. During the development stage, some patients with phimosis will recover to normal as they develop. Then there is no need for surgery. But this is not absolute.

3. Actually, there is no need to be afraid of phimosis. The incidence rate is very high. In Europe, America and Muslim countries, they do not consider this because most children have phimosis. Therefore, circumcision is performed when they are young. If you are still worried, you can ask the doctor for advice on whether to circumcise or not.

During urination, "bulging" of the foreskin opening is one of the important characteristics of phimosis. Because the causes are different, the treatment plans are also different. Generally speaking, phimosis can heal itself in most children when they are 3-4 years old. Therefore, congenital phimosis usually does not require special treatment. Those that cannot heal themselves can only be treated with surgery.

When cleaning, be gentle and carefully turn over the foreskin. Avoid using liquids or soaps containing medicinal ingredients to avoid causing trauma, irritation, and allergic reactions. After cleaning, gently dry it with a soft towel and then turn the foreskin back. If the foreskin opening is small, difficult to clean, and inflammation often occurs, circumcision should be performed after the inflammation is controlled.
