Tips for removing phlegm from a four-month-old baby

A newborn baby will lose a lot of protection when it leaves its mother's womb. Babies have relatively low resistance and weak immunity, so they may get sick even when faced with slight external stimulation. Children start breathing with their lungs after they are born. Once they catch a cold, they will cough and expectorate. A four-month-old baby cannot speak yet, let alone cooperate with parents' treatment. So how can a four-month-old baby expectorate?

The respiratory system of infants and young children is not yet fully developed. They cannot cough up phlegm, and it is easy for the phlegm to get stuck in the throat, trachea or be swallowed into the stomach. The following are three methods of expectorating phlegm.

Patting the back method: When the child is coughing, let the child lie on his side or hold him up to lie on his side. The parent slightly bends the five fingers of one hand, makes a fist, and gently pats the child's back. Pat your left side and lie on your left side, alternating between the two sides. The force of the slapping should not be too great, and it should be done from top to bottom and from outside to inside, in sequence. Pat each side for at least 3-5 minutes, 2-3 times a day.

The back-patting method can not only loosen the sputum in the child's lungs and bronchi, drain it into the trachea and discharge it, but also promote blood circulation in the heart and lungs, which is beneficial to the absorption of bronchial inflammation.

The water drinking method allows the child to drink more cold boiled water at about 23 degrees Celsius. It can dilute the viscous secretions in the respiratory tract, making it easier to cough out, which is beneficial for relieving cough and expectoration.

At the same time, cold boiled water can improve blood circulation, so that the waste or toxins produced by the body's metabolism can be quickly excreted from the urine, thereby reducing its irritation to the respiratory tract. Steam method

Pour boiling water into a wide-mouthed pot or teacup, hold the child, and let his mouth and nose face the rising steam and breathe in and out. This can thin the phlegm and facilitate coughing. It can also reduce congestion and edema of the trachea and bronchial mucosa and reduce coughing.

But be careful to avoid burns.

Boil rock sugar pear:

Effects and functions:

Nourishes yin and moistens the lungs, nourishes the stomach and produces body fluids. Suitable for chronic tracheitis, whooping cough, chronic pharyngitis and other diseases. Each bite is eaten in the morning and evening. Stewed pears with rock sugar does have a cough-relieving effect, but it takes a while to eat. Eating pears stewed with rock sugar regularly can remove phlegm and heat, nourish yin and moisten the lungs.

If conditions permit, it is better to add Fritillaria together. In addition, pears can relieve the symptoms of dry throat, itchy throat, sore throat and loss of voice; patients with tuberculosis who often eat pears can relieve the symptoms of lung heat, cough, itchy throat and phlegm;

Hypertensive patients who often eat pears can nourish yin and clear heat, lower blood pressure, and relieve dizziness and vertigo symptoms; Hepatitis and cirrhosis patients who often eat pears can protect the liver, relieve cirrhosis, help digestion, strengthen the spleen and nourish yin;

Snow pear and rock sugar can be made into snow pear drink, which can clear away heat and quench thirst. It is suitable for fever, loss of body fluid, thirst, etc. caused by exogenous warm viruses.
