4. Many babies seem to sleep all day and all night in the first few days after they are born, especially breastfed babies. But around the third day, when the breast milk is truly formed, they become much more energetic.

5. Compared with adults, babies spend a larger proportion of their sleep in shallow sleep, which means that they do not sleep deeply and are easily awakened.

6. Your baby will wake up several times every night during the light sleep stage. A baby who sleeps well will slowly fall asleep after a brief awakening, while a baby who does not sleep well will cry immediately and look for someone to comfort him.

7. By a few weeks, or at the latest two months old, your baby will be able to fall asleep peacefully again after a startled awakening, either during the day or at night.
