What to do if your child has diarrhea due to acclimatization

Not to mention children, even adults will suffer from acclimatization when they go from one place to an unfamiliar place, and are likely to suffer from diarrhea, nausea, and loss of appetite. Because children are often more fragile than adults, they need more attention. So what should we do if children have diarrhea due to acclimatization? Below I will introduce to you in detail some methods to relieve children’s acclimatization problems.

1. Reasons for baby's acclimatization

1. Eating unclean food

When you arrive at a new place, especially when traveling, everyone’s idea is: don’t be so particular when you are away from home. So, the whole family just found a small restaurant to have dinner. However, the viruses in these dirty foods are quietly eroding the baby's body.

2. Eating without moderation

When they arrived at the local area, the baby saw some special foods that he loved to eat, and the mother did not stop him. She allowed the baby to eat and drink as much as he wanted. This exceeded the baby's stomach and intestines' capacity, and the baby was naturally prone to diarrhea.

3. Eating hot and cold food

The meals are still hot during this period, but when the baby gets tired, he will have a can of cold drink. The baby’s body will not be able to bear this way of eating, and his resistance will be low, which will make him prone to symptoms such as diarrhea.

2. Symptoms of baby's acclimatization

Gastrointestinal manifestations: loss of appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain;

Skin manifestations: itchy skin, erythematous rash, herpes, urticaria;

Nervous system manifestations: mental fatigue, chest tightness and discomfort, and disturbed sleep.

3. How to prevent baby from acclimatization

The first meal at your destination is important.

For babies who eat complementary foods, the first complementary meal after arriving at the destination is very important. You can use local water and grains to make porridge.

For younger babies, try to feed them simple foods, with a diet mainly of light, soft foods, and only one type of food for three days.

For older babies, after the first meal of complementary food, add a new food at each meal. The order of addition is grains, vegetables, fungi, fruits and animal ingredients.

It is not recommended to eat raw, cold, greasy or salty food the day before.
