The baby was born with red spots on the eyelids

A fresh little life, after ten months of pregnancy in his mother, can finally see this wonderful world. Of course, the moment the baby comes into the world is a time of great joy for everyone, and people welcome this little life with warm faces. However, some babies are born with red spots on their eyelids. What is going on? Let me answer this question for you below.

1 When babies under one year old develop abnormal red spots on their skin, the most common diseases are (to make it easier for you to understand, I have changed them to Western medical names): scarlet fever, allergic purpura, and thrombocytopenic purpura.

2 Scarlet fever is common in winter and spring and is an acute infectious disease. Traditional Chinese medicine also calls it Dansha. The clinical manifestations are fever (often before the red spots appear), sore throat and even erosion (the baby will have anorexia and cry). The rashes are mostly distributed all over the body and are as small as sand when sucked. The color is red. Based on your information, I think we can rule out scarlet fever.

3 Allergic purpura is generally caused by upper respiratory tract infection (such as colds, acute bronchitis) or taking certain foods or medicines. Purpura mostly appears on the lower limbs, buttocks, and joints, often above the skin, and is often symmetrical (that is, it occurs on the left leg and also on the right leg at the same location), with obvious abdominal pain, vomiting, and bloody stools. It can be seen from this that this kind of situation can be basically ruled out.

4. Thrombocytopenic purpura usually has spots the size of a pinpoint, does not protrude above the skin, does not change color when pressed, and is often asymmetrical. It can appear all over the body, but is most common on the limbs and head and face. It may be accompanied by varying degrees of bleeding, such as hematuria, bloody stools, etc. This situation is more suspected to be this type of disease.

5 It is recommended to closely observe the baby's stool and body temperature. You can go to the hospital for a routine blood test. If the platelet count is lower than 20*10 to the ninth power/L, thrombocytopenic purpura is suspected.

6 It is also worth noting that if the mother has eaten spicy or high-calorie food and is breastfeeding her child, it can cause red spots on the child's skin. Generally, the child's urine will also be yellow and hot.
