Can children's hyperopia and astigmatism be cured?

We all know that when children are young, parents will urge them to keep their eyes away from the notebook, sit upright, and correct their writing posture every day, in order to prevent bone deformities and myopia in their children during their growth. However, many children will have hyperopia and astigmatism when they are young, and they always have to hold things far away to see clearly. So can hyperopia and astigmatism in children be cured?

Hyperopic astigmatism is treatable. However, refractive errors such as hyperopia and astigmatism are developmental eye diseases and can only be treated during the sensitive period of visual development, that is, before the age of 9. After this age, the eye tissue structure tends to be fixed and cannot be treated, and the patient can only wear glasses for life.

In other words, only children with hyperopia and astigmatism have a chance to be cured and remove glasses. So, how can children's hyperopia and astigmatism be cured? In fact, the treatment effect of hyperopia and astigmatism is divided into two standards:

The first is the basic cure standard, which means that the child's naked vision returns to normal levels and increases to above 1.0. At the same time, the child actively expressed that he could see more clearly without glasses than with them;

The second is the complete cure standard, that is: the child's naked eye vision returns to normal levels and increases to above 1.0. At the same time, astigmatism ≤ + 0.50DC

According to Dr. He Qi's many years of clinical experience, most children with hyperopia and astigmatism can achieve basic cure standards through Chinese medicine massage treatment, that is, their naked vision reaches 1.0 and they can take off their glasses, but it is difficult to achieve complete cure standards. However, compared with the lifelong wearing of glasses in Western medicine, Chinese medicine massage can help children with hyperopia and astigmatism reach the basic cure standards, and being able to take off glasses is a very good result.
