What causes baby's eye bags to swell?

What causes baby's eye bags to swell?

The baby has swollen eye bags, which can also be said to be a symptom of puffy eyes. It may be caused by the child drinking too much water or improper sleep. Of course, if the child has kidney problems, you should be alert and go to the hospital for examination in time. If the swelling is more serious, a routine urine test should be performed. In addition, you can use cold compresses to regulate your body and eat less salt.

The most common reasons are as follows;

First, the baby drinks too much water before going to bed or it may be related to kidney function;

Second, it may be related to the baby's allergy to certain substances or prolonged crying;

Third, when the baby lacks vitamin D, it is easy to cause dry eyes and red and swollen eye bags;

Fourth, when the baby's pillow is uncomfortable (too low), it is easy to affect the baby's sleep quality, which can easily cause swollen eye bags. As the baby grows up, the height of the pillow should be constantly adjusted;

5. This situation is also likely to occur when the baby rubs his eyes for a long time due to other reasons, causing local inflammation and infection.

Children with puffy eyes should have their urine checked

From the symptoms of primary nephrotic syndrome in children above, we can see that puffy eyes are a symptom of nephrotic syndrome. Therefore, when parents find that their children’s eyes are swollen, they must carefully find out the cause. If it is not because of drinking too much water before going to bed or being affected by the surrounding environment, it is very likely that there is a problem with the kidneys.

Urine testing is an important way to detect whether a child has kidney disease. Children with kidney disease often have proteinuria. This is because kidney disease causes increased capillary permeability in the glomeruli, allowing protein in the body to leak from the kidneys into the urine, and a routine urine test will show positive for proteinuria. In this way, a child's kidney disease can be easily detected through a urine test.

A routine urine test can intuitively reflect the functional status of the kidneys. When healthy people undergo routine urine tests, the urine protein index is usually negative. If the test results show that the urine protein is positive, it means that there is a certain lesion in the kidney. Parents should be careful at this time and take their babies for timely treatment.

If your child's urine routine is normal, his weight is similar to that of his peers, and his morning urine is not turbid, then your child's kidney function is very good and it is impossible for him to suffer from nephritis.

When a child has swollen eyes, parents should comprehensively analyze the causes of the child's swollen eyes. If it is determined that the problem is not caused by drinking too much water before going to bed, surrounding pollution, too low pillow, eyes being stimulated by strong light, etc., then it is very likely that the child has kidney problems. It is recommended that parents should be careful and take their babies to check urine routine!
