Infants need to be vaccinated when the time is right to ensure the health of the baby. In particular, infants need to pay attention to the BCG vaccine to ensure the health of the body and avoid problems with the BCG vaccine affecting the health of the baby. So what should infants pay attention to when getting the BCG vaccine? Let me introduce this issue to you below. Currently, the tuberculin test mostly uses "human tuberculin purified protein derivative (PPD)" for testing, so it is called the PPD test. The specific method is to inject PPD intradermally in the middle of the palmar forearm of the child, just like the penicillin skin test. The difference is that the time for observing the results is different. The reaction at the injection site is checked 48 to 72 hours after the injection of PPD. If there is only a needle hole-sized mark at the injection site and no nodule, it is a negative reaction. At this time, you should ask a doctor to do further examination to find out the cause and see whether it is related to the child's own immune function deficiency or the technical operation of the BCG vaccination process, and then take any action. If redness and swelling appear at the injection site and there is a nodule with a diameter of 5 to 10 mm, it is a positive reaction. About 95% of children have a positive reaction, which means that the BCG vaccination has developed immunity against tuberculosis. If the nodule at the injection site exceeds 20 mm, or blisters, necrosis or lymphangitis appear on the redness, swelling or nodule, it is a strong positive reaction. At this time, you should go to the hospital for further examination to determine the situation of tuberculosis infection and take appropriate measures. 1. Newborns who are born prematurely, have difficult labor, or have obvious congenital malformations. 2. Children with acute infectious diseases such as fever and diarrhea. 3. Patients with chronic diseases of the heart, lung, kidney, severe skin diseases, allergic skin diseases, nervous system diseases, and those who have allergic reactions to vaccinations. 4. Babies with immunodeficiency cannot be vaccinated with BCG. If respiratory or digestive tract infections occur frequently, or if an infectious disease does not heal for a long time, or if the baby does not grow well, you should go to the hospital for further examination. If you are diagnosed with immunodeficiency, you should not receive BCG vaccination. This is because vaccination can cause tuberculosis to spread, and some people may also develop BCG bacteremia. 5. Babies with active tuberculosis, or who have had tuberculosis and tested positive for tuberculin test, do not need to be vaccinated with BCG. The above is my opinion on this issue that I would like to introduce to you. If the child has the above problems, then the baby needs to pay attention to take appropriate measures in time to ensure the baby's physical health and avoid dangerous situations caused by the above problems. Please pay attention to consult me in time to understand. |
