How to treat a child’s sore throat and fever?

Children usually do not pay attention to their personal hygiene, and it is easy for bacteria to invade their bodies and cause fever. However, some fevers are not caused by bacteria or viruses. They are because the children catch a cold or are too tired, which leads to tonsillitis and subsequent fever. In this case, the child often has a sore throat and it is very painful to swallow saliva. So, if our children have tonsil fever, how should we treat it?

The general treatment of tonsillitis and fever is to enhance physical fitness and immunity, and acute tonsillitis requires adequate treatment. In clinical practice, I use Manyan Shuning Granules to treat tonsillitis with good results, and add anti-inflammatory drugs, such as amoxicillin. Drinking more Isatis root water on a regular basis can play a preventive role. Rinse your mouth with light salt water in the morning and evening, until it feels slightly salty. There are also mouthwashes specifically for chronic tonsillitis, which are particularly good for preventing recurring attacks of chronic tonsillitis.

For simple tonsillitis, you should pay attention to eating light food, avoid eating irritating food, drink plenty of water, and eat soft food. If it develops into purulent form, in addition to the above measures, anti-inflammatory measures are also required. In addition, purulent forms will be accompanied by high fever, so you should pay attention to cooling down, change sweaty clothes in time, and the food should be nutritious, easy to digest, and easy to chew and swallow.

Tonsillitis is treated with supportive care to relieve symptoms combined with anti-infective drugs. Supportive care includes drinking plenty of fluids and gargling with salt water.

Antibiotics are effective against bacterial infections, and penicillin is still the drug of choice for most bacteria. However, some bacteria have mutated and more powerful antibiotics are necessary.

Viral infections are not caused by bacteria, and inappropriate use of antibiotics can make the condition worse. This infection is best treated with supportive care alone. .

Very serious infections require hospitalization. Inability to swallow can lead to dehydration, which is best treated with intravenous fluids, and intravenous antibiotics are more effective. You can use Vitamin C Yinqiao Tablets to treat acute tonsillitis. The main ingredients of Vitamin C Yinqiao Tablets include honeysuckle, forsythia, schizonepeta, light black beans, burdock, platycodon, peppermint oil, reed root, bamboo leaves, vitamin C, chlorpheniramine maleate, acetaminophen, and licorice. The auxiliary materials are starch, dextrin and sucrose. Because it has the effects of relieving exterior symptoms, clearing away heat and detoxifying, it is suitable for the initial stage of wind-heat cold, with symptoms such as chills and fever, headache and sore throat, sore limbs, nasal congestion and runny nose, thirst and cough. Vitamin C Yinqiao Tablets can also be used for exogenous wind-heat diseases such as influenza, acute tonsillitis, upper respiratory tract infection, etc. in Western medicine. Vitamin C Yinqiao tablets cannot be taken for colds caused by wind and cold. Generally, it only needs to be taken for 3-5 days to treat acute tonsillitis. If the tonsillitis has already shown signs of suppuration, it is no longer suitable for use.

When a child has a fever on his tonsils, it is best for adults to use physical cooling methods. Since there is no invasion of bacteria or viruses, there is no need to go to the hospital for an IV drip. Moreover, the frequent use of antibiotics in the IV drip is not good for the growing child and will reduce his own immunity.
