How to feed a child?

Mothers nowadays attach great importance to the feeding of newborn babies, because today's young mothers are educated and pay attention to scientific feeding of their children. However, they all go to work every day, have stressful jobs and sometimes have great work pressure. They get married late and have children at an older age. Some young mothers do not have enough milk, so some mothers cannot satisfy their baby's breastfeeding needs. If breast milk is insufficient, children also need to supplement nutrition, so mixed feeding is adopted. Which method is better, mixed feeding or breastfeeding? Let’s do a detailed analysis below.

First of all, for babies who cannot fully have breast milk, mixed feeding is indeed a good choice. Although mixed feeding is not as good as breastfeeding, it can ensure to a certain extent that the mother's breasts are stimulated by the baby's sucking on time, thereby maintaining the normal secretion of milk and allowing the baby to eat breast milk 2 to 3 times a day, which still has many benefits for the baby's health.

Secondly, mixed feeding will make mothers who have just given birth feel more relaxed and help them recover their physical condition after childbirth. Postpartum mothers who are weak can add formula milk to their babies as nutritional supplements when their breast milk is insufficient or they are in dire need of rest. But don't feed your baby with a bottle first. You can feed him with a spoon or cup first, and then use a pacifier after your baby is used to sucking breast milk. Because pacifiers are easier to suck than nipples, if the baby is used to sucking on the pacifier, he will not be willing to make the effort to suck the mother's milk.

However, no matter how good mixed feeding is for babies, it is not as good as breastfeeding! Breast milk, especially colostrum, contains a large number of immune active cells and a variety of immunoglobulins, which can protect children from invasion by various microorganisms. Therefore, breastfed children before 6 months are less susceptible to various diseases than those who are artificially fed or mixed fed. The close skin contact between mother and child during breastfeeding can strengthen the relationship between mother and child, and the mother can promptly feel whether the baby's body temperature is normal and detect certain diseases early.

But if you use mixed feeding, you should give your baby some extra boiled water. Especially in the hot summer, you should replenish water appropriately and shorten the interval between drinking water. Breastfed babies under 4 months old do not need to drink water, but mixed-fed babies should drink 60 ml of boiled water every day, divided into 3-4 times, that is, add water once between two feedings. Babies aged 4-6 months should drink 100 ml of boiled water every day, divided into 3-4 times. Babies who are 6 months old or older should drink 120 ml of boiled water every day, divided into 3-4 times.

The specific situation of each family is different, and the amount of milk each mother has is also different. So what kind of feeding method does the child need? This depends on the actual situation of each family and how they feed their children. Of course, breastfed children can obtain necessary nutrients from breast milk. If breast milk is insufficient or there are other reasons, and the child cannot be fed completely by breast milk, mixed feeding will be necessary. Either way, I hope all children grow up healthily.
