The baby often hits the back of the head

When there is a child in the family, all family members will revolve around the child. As we all know, raising a baby is a very stressful task. Especially for babies who can walk, they may fall if they are not careful. Although this is inevitable, if the baby often hits the back of the head while walking, it can be very dangerous, so the baby needs family care.

If your head hits the ground directly, will your brain be damaged? Will you become stupid if you fall too much?

Will a head-on hit on the ground cause a concussion?

A: It depends on the magnitude and strength of the fall on the baby's head. If there is a brief loss of consciousness after the head impact, the baby has a so-called "concussion." Generally, the floors in homes or wooden floors will not reach such a serious level.

If I really get a concussion, will I be able to recover later?

Answer: Concussion does not leave any sequelae. It usually only manifests as physical discomfort. Such as vomiting, low fever and other symptoms, but it will definitely not directly cause the brain to become stupid or dull. Concussion will not lead to a decrease in memory, but there is a very small chance of temporary amnesia. It is possible that the memory of the time period when the accident occurred will disappear forever, but the memory afterwards will not be affected. These will all recover later, but it’s just a matter of how long the recovery time will be.

Will I become stupid if I hit my head directly on the ground or fall on my head frequently?

When babies just learn to walk, they will definitely fall on their heads often. The first thing mothers must worry about is whether their babies will become stupid if they fall too much. One thing that needs to be emphasized here is that everything involves a probability issue, and the results of falling on the front of the head and falling on the back of the head may be different. A neurologist once told me that if a fall is serious, such as a skull fracture, and if it happens to damage the cerebral cortex that controls the cognitive system, it can make the person stupid. In comparison, it is safer to fall on the front of the head rather than on the back of the head, because the back of the head is closely related to the brain stem and cerebellum, which can definitely affect life.

If an accident really happens, how should we deal with it?

When a baby falls seriously, parents must not panic. First of all, they should judge whether to send the baby to the doctor in time. How to judge?

1. The most important point is "crying". Does the baby cry out loud in time after falling to the ground? If so, then there is no need to worry too much. (Don’t keep crying. If the baby keeps crying, it means he is still uncomfortable and you should go to the hospital immediately.) Then look at the eyeballs to see if they are as flexible as before. If your baby can't talk yet, wait until he's calm and then move an object in front of his eyes to see if he can follow along. , if you can then don't worry. For older children who can understand instructions, you can ask them to stick out their tongue, raise their right hand, and do the actions according to your instructions. If everything goes well, there will generally be no problem. Then remember to check the child's head to see if there is any dent, redness, swelling, or injury. If so, go to the hospital. But if it is a minor abrasion on the head skin, we don't need to rush to the hospital, but we must closely observe the child for 24-48 hours to see how the child develops. If you experience any of the following symptoms within 48 hours of the fall, you should seek medical attention: - Feeling listless and sleepy during times when you should normally be awake. -Persistent headaches, agitation, or, if the baby cannot yet speak, persistent crying.

Changes in coordination and muscle strength, such as slurred speech and unsteady gait; difficulty breathing and epileptic seizures.

2. If the child loses consciousness at the moment of falling, notify a doctor immediately and do not move the child if possible. If the patient is unconscious after 5 minutes, call 120 as soon as possible and ask a professional doctor to move the patient; check whether the patient is breathing; if there is bleeding, apply pressure with a piece of cloth. Rather than feeling strongly guilty, the most important thing is to deal with the situation proactively afterwards.
