Can children take a bath when they have chickenpox?

When their children get chickenpox, the parents are the most worried. When a child has chickenpox, parents must actively cooperate with the doctor's advice and never give the child food that will aggravate the chickenpox. At the same time, parents should also isolate themselves appropriately when taking care of children, because adults can also get chickenpox. The symptoms of chickenpox are different at different stages of development, but can children take a bath after they have chickenpox?

Can I take a bath when I have chickenpox?

Generally speaking, chickenpox occurs and subsides according to the natural course of the disease. Even if large blisters rupture and form erosive surfaces, they will heal quickly and leave no scars. However, if you do not pay attention to keeping the skin clean and repeatedly scratch the ulcers, it is easy to cause secondary bacterial infection and even gangrene, which will leave scars after healing. Because the lesions of simple varicella are very shallow and do not reach the dermis, if combined with bacterial infection, they will damage downwards and cause scar formation. So don't take a shower for the time being to prevent infection and scarring.

The varicella virus exists in the respiratory tract of early patients and is mainly transmitted through saliva droplets. The disease can also be transmitted by contact with the patient's clothing, toys, utensils, etc. Generally, the patient is contagious from one day before the rash appears to five days after it appears or until the rash is completely scabbed and dry. The incubation period of this disease is about 2-3 weeks.

If a baby is infected with chickenpox, you can put cotton gloves on him to prevent him from rubbing his eyes with his hands, which would infect the eyes with the virus and cause keratitis, leaving scars on the cornea and affecting vision.

One of the symptoms of chickenpox is a mild fever. The fever starts while the chickenpox spreads and goes away when the chickenpox disappears. Do not take aspirin to reduce a fever during your fever as this can increase the chance of complications. It is easy to cause a type of encephalitis. Patients with Reye's syndrome should take a bath with warm water (not hot water) to keep their skin clean and reduce the risk of infection.

How to cure chickenpox quickly

Apply calamine lotion topically. If the herpes has ruptured, apply 1% gentian violet. If there is a secondary bacterial infection of the skin, you can choose tetracycline ointment for local application or antibiotics. At the same time, decocting 12 grams of honeysuckle and 3 grams of licorice in water and taking it continuously can also help recovery. During the period of chickenpox, you should avoid being exposed to the wind or the sun, and avoid eating spicy or fishy food.

There is no specific treatment for chickenpox, only antiviral treatment to prevent various complications. You can drink mung bean soup in the early stage of chickenpox. During the fever period, you should eat light and easy-to-digest food, drink more warm water, and get enough rest. The skin should also be kept clean and hygienic. Do not bathe your child. When the skin is itchy, you can apply some anti-itching lotion. If your nails grow long, you should trim them short in time to avoid scratching the blisters and causing infection. If the blisters have broken, apply 1% gentian violet.

Remember not to use hormone treatment, otherwise it will aggravate the condition. Don't get vaccinated for the time being as it can easily cause allergies. In addition, the disease may be complicated by encephalitis, myocarditis, etc. Therefore, once complications are found, you should go to the hospital immediately to avoid delaying the disease.
