How long after vaccination can the baby take a bath?

For newborns, in order to avoid being infected with certain diseases, parents must remember to take their babies to the nearest community hospital to get vaccinations in time. Sometimes, some paid vaccinations are necessary. It is better to be safe than sorry! However, there are still many things to note when giving babies vaccinations. So, how long after the vaccination can the baby take a bath?

You need to check whether there is redness or swelling at the injection site. If not, you can give the baby a bath.

Things to note after your baby gets vaccinated

1. After vaccination, you should stay at the vaccination site for 15 to 30 minutes. If there is no reaction, go home to avoid abnormal reactions that may not be treated in time.

2. It is not advisable to bathe the baby within 24 hours, especially at the vaccination site, to avoid local infection.

3. Keep the local skin of the vaccination site clean and hygienic, and change and wash underwear frequently. Babies are prohibited from scratching the vaccination site with their hands to avoid local infection or aggravated reactions. In case the skin is scratched by the baby, topical medications can be used locally, such as chloramphenicol eye ointment and Band-Aids; if there is constant purulent secretion flowing out of the local area, you should go to the surgical outpatient clinic in time.

4. Make sure your baby drinks as much water as possible.

5. Let your baby rest more, avoid strenuous activities, and try to do some quieter activities, such as letting the baby sit and read picture books, telling stories to the baby, playing with puzzle toys, etc.

After giving the baby vaccinations, parents should also pay close attention to the baby's various physical conditions, because some babies may have fever after vaccination due to physical reasons, and some may even have a fever. When the baby feels unwell, parents need to go to the hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible.
