How to correct children's leg clamp syndrome

How to correct children's leg clamp syndrome

The 0-3 years old stage is a period that parents need to focus on observing. Every move of the child's body is a concern for parents. As parents, you must understand the knowledge of the child's physical growth and development at each stage. If there is a slight deviation, don't worry. You can observe or give the child corresponding training. The child's growth process cannot be separated from the care of the parents. Many parents will find that their children often squeeze their legs. When they are checked, they will be told that they suffer from pediatric squeeze leg syndrome, which is not serious and can be relieved by corrective methods in normal times, but be careful not to force it in the middle to avoid the child crying. If necessary, you can take the child to the hospital for examination and do daily preventive work.

Clinical manifestations

It is more common in infants and young children, with a peak incidence period of 1-3 years old. The children are conscious during an attack, with both lower limbs stretched out, crossed or clamped, and their hands clenched into fists or grasping things. Girls also like to sit on hard objects, with their hands on their legs or lower limbs, and some also clamp objects between their legs. Boys often lie prone on the bed and rub back and forth. When an attack occurs, the penis of the child has an erection and the urethra cavity is edematous. Girls have increased vaginal secretions, accompanied by red face, sweating, heavy breathing, and perineal muscle contraction. Each attack lasts for several minutes or longer, and in severe cases it lasts continuously. If the child is stopped halfway, he or she will often cry and be restless, and have to return to the original state.

Disease prevention

First of all, parents should understand the nature of this disease and not be anxious or nervous. Normally, do not wear clothes that are too tight. Do appropriate physical activities before going to bed so that your child is tired before going to bed and can fall asleep quickly. Avoid sleeping with too many blankets and get up immediately after waking up to eliminate the conditions that lead to this habit.

Many children suffer from leg pinching syndrome due to itching caused by unclean vulva. Clean your child's vulva frequently. When cleaning, be sure to use water to tease and rinse it instead of using your hands to avoid causing excitement and stimulation, or even causing your child to masturbate prematurely.

Medical diagnosis

In the past, leg clamp syndrome was believed to be "childhood masturbation", but later it was believed to be caused by children being infested by parasites. About 70% of children have low ferritin levels in their blood. It is believed that this disease is the result of insufficient iron storage in the body, which causes catecholamine metabolism disorders.
