Why is my baby vomiting and having diarrhea?

After birth, the baby's body is in a state of development. Because their physical constitution is relatively weak, special attention should be paid to their physical health. The baby's stomach and intestines are relatively fragile, so we need to pay attention to some daily eating habits. The baby will suffer from vomiting and diarrhea, and many parents don’t know what to do. Let’s understand what causes vomiting and diarrhea in babies.

1. A routine stool examination should be done. If there is no pus cells, white blood cells or other bacterial infection, antibiotics are generally not used. If necessary, only narrow-spectrum antibiotics should be used.

2. Provide antiviral, fluid and electrolyte supplementation treatments. It would be better if a blood electrolyte test could be done and corresponding supplements could be given.

3. Montmorillonite powder can be used in combination with racecadotril granules, quadruple live bacteria tablets, etc. for symptomatic treatment.

4. In terms of diet, give white porridge, noodles and other easy-to-digest, light foods, and avoid greasy and sweet foods.

5. Have you eaten cold food? If the baby eats cold food or water, he will have diarrhea. If the breastfeeding mother eats ice cream or other cold food, the baby will also have diarrhea. Therefore, young mothers should also avoid certain foods when breastfeeding.

6. Are you feeding your baby too much? The baby's gastrointestinal digestive system is very fragile and not yet fully developed, so it is recommended to eat small meals frequently and not feed too much at one time, otherwise it is easy to cause indigestion or even vomiting and diarrhea.

7. Adding too much complementary food or too quickly. When your baby switches from drinking exclusively milk to adding complementary foods, do not add too many new foods at once, and transition slowly from liquid to semi-liquid foods, otherwise the baby's digestive system will not be able to adapt and the above symptoms may occur.

The above is an introduction to vomiting and diarrhea in babies. I hope your baby can also have a healthy body. Pay attention to your baby's daily dietary hygiene, especially in the hot summer. Do not let your baby eat foods that are irritating to the stomach and intestines. Let your baby eat more neutral foods.
