Once the feeding and care are improper, such as feeding too many times, feeding too much milk, the mother's nipples are too large or sunken, or the holes in the rubber nipple are too large when feeding with a bottle, causing the baby to suck milk too quickly; or letting the baby lie flat after feeding, or turning the baby too much or too early, it is easy to cause the baby to spit up milk. This type of spitting up can be prevented by improving feeding and care methods, so it is not considered pathological.

In addition, some diseases can also cause infants to spit up milk, such as congenital malformations of the esophagus and gastrointestinal tract, intestinal obstruction, etc. Newborns with meningitis, sepsis and other infections may also spit up milk. The spitting up caused by these diseases is often severe and frequent, and will not recover in a day or two. Therefore, when a newborn baby spits up milk, you should carefully observe the number of times the baby spits up milk every day, his urination and defecation, and whether he has symptoms such as abdominal distension, fever, or poor spirits.
