For baby boys, if the scrotum is swollen and the child is crying, it is necessary to observe whether the child has hernia in time. Hernia is a relatively common disease that often occurs in infants and young children. Children often have lumps in the groin area, and the child will have symptoms such as stomach pain and nausea caused by crying. If it is not treated in time, it may even cause some serious complications. 1. The onset time of hernia is different For babies, the onset time of hernia is uncertain. Some babies will get hernia just after birth, some when they are a few months old, and some when they are a few years old. 2. A mass can be seen in the baby's groin Larger bumps may also extend to the scrotum in boys or near the labia majora in girls. This often happens when the baby cries loudly, runs vigorously, or has a bowel movement. However, if you let the baby lie down or press it with your hand, the lump will disappear. 3. Stomach pain and vomiting If the tumor does not disappear and accumulates in the body, the baby will feel very uncomfortable, such as stomach pain, vomiting, fever, loss of appetite, crying, etc. 4. Reducible hernia When a hernia is first discovered, the protrusion cannot be observed when the baby lies flat; however, the baby's abdominal pressure is rising, and this pressure will "push" the mass into the scrotum of the lower body. In this case, the baby should lie still, and use other auxiliary means to reduce the baby's abdominal pressure. At the same time, the mass that has reached the scrotum should be gently pushed in the opposite direction toward the abdomen. If the method is effective, and the mass "returns to its original path" and gradually disappears without a trace, it means that this is a "reducible hernia." 5. Serious complications Not all lumps can return to the abdomen under the effect of pressure. Once this happens, the baby's stomach pain symptoms will become more severe, and the baby will be very irritable and cry constantly. After a while, intestinal obstruction will occur, which is manifested by abdominal distension, difficulty in defecation, vomiting, etc. If you observe the baby's groin or scrotum at this time, there will be an obvious and hard oval mass, which will be very painful when touched. If a lump is stuck in the groin or scrotum for a long time, it will cause redness and swelling of the baby's skin. If the time is further prolonged, serious complications will occur, such as intestinal ischemia and necrosis. |
