Why does a child sweat on his forehead when sleeping? Uncover the real reason

It is very common for children to sweat a lot when they sleep. This may be normal, such as caused by hot weather; but it may also be abnormal, which may be caused by disease factors, so parents should pay attention to it.

1. It is a common problem for babies to sweat on their heads while sleeping. Many of them are due to weak constitution or illness. Parents believe that their baby’s weak constitution causes constant sweating. In fact, many babies suffer from physiological hyperhidrosis. Physiological hyperhidrosis mostly occurs on the head and neck. It will occur thirty minutes after falling asleep and will stop sweating after sixty minutes.

2. Babies have a high metabolism and are lively and active. Sometimes they will play even in bed, and their heads will sweat after falling asleep. Physiological hyperhidrosis refers to sweating caused by normal child development, no physical problems, and no illness. Parents are accustomed to determining the baby's temperature based on their own subjective feelings and will cover the baby tightly. The baby's brain nerves are not fully developed and are still in the growth and development stage. The body metabolism is active and overheated, so it can only regulate its body temperature by sweating and evaporating heat.

3. Active and lively babies exercise a lot during the day and consume a lot of heat. Their bodies are unable to dissipate the excess heat, so it accumulates in the body. At night, their body temperature can reach around 38°C. After falling asleep, the body's heat will decrease, the sensitivity of the sympathetic nerves will decrease, and the body will sweat and dissipate heat to maintain a normal body temperature.

4. Your baby’s head may sweat when he sleeps because he drinks milk, malted milk or eats chocolate. After falling asleep, the body will produce a lot of heat, which can only be dissipated by sweating through the skin. Moreover, too high room temperature or excessive warmth can also cause the baby's head to sweat while sleeping. These are actually physiological sweating.
