Don’t think that bad breath is a phenomenon that only adults experience. Children can have bad breath as well. But what causes bad breath in children? Some children use antibiotics more frequently, which may also cause this phenomenon.

1. Children’s digestive organs are not yet fully developed. The digestive organs of children are not fully developed, which is manifested in: insufficient secretion of digestive juices, relatively tender mucous membranes in the intestines and stomach, and imperfect enzyme function. The above factors combined show that the digestive function of children is very weak. If mothers feed their children everything during their childhood, they may develop gastric reflux to varying degrees. When gastric gas refluxes, the gastric acid in the stomach will flow back into the mouth, and the gastric acid will cause bad breath.

2. There is inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract. Food contaminated by bacteria can easily cause gastrointestinal inflammation. When children accidentally eat contaminated food, it may cause gastrointestinal discomfort, leading to bad breath in children.

3. Abuse of antibiotics. Lactobacillus in the gastrointestinal tract of children can protect the stomach. If antibiotics are used too much, they will inhibit the growth of normal bacteria in children's bodies, such as lactobacillus, and promote the proliferation of miscellaneous bacteria. Therefore, excessive use of antibiotics is also one of the causes of bad breath in children.

4. Related to children’s hygiene habits. Food residues or milk accumulation in the child's mouth may also cause bad breath in the child. After mothers give their children milk, they should give them some boiled water to dilute the food in their mouths. This can reduce the chances of oral caries and bad breath in children.
