Can children's ADHD really heal itself?

ADHD is a problem that has troubled parents for a long time, because some parents have heard that ADHD will heal itself when the child grows up, but can children's ADHD really heal itself? Children with ADHD usually need parents to pay attention to it and treat it themselves, so parents still need to decide on treatment based on their children's special circumstances. Drug treatment is not recommended because of side effects, so it is best not to use drug treatment.

Children with ADHD will not heal themselves as they grow older, and ADHD cannot be cured. It can only be alleviated through treatment to improve children's ability to adapt to the environment, sociability, communication, language skills, and improve parent-child and family relationships.

However, if treated long-term and appropriately, the prognosis in adulthood is generally good. If left untreated, most children with ADHD will still have impulsive behavior and learning problems into adolescence, and even 30% of children will still have symptoms into adulthood.

ADHD in children is a brain dysfunction that is significantly related to the prefrontal lobe, caudate nucleus, corpus callosum and dopamine secretion in the brain.

Children with ADHD will not recover on their own as they grow older, and ADHD is not a disease exclusive to children. According to current research, among children diagnosed with ADHD, two-thirds of them continue to have ADHD into puberty, and one-third continue to have ADHD into adulthood.
