What are the symptoms of febrile convulsions in babies?

Many times we don’t know enough about children’s illnesses because their physical conditions are not uniform. Many children are quite healthy and rarely get sick, but some children are very sick and look particularly pitiful. For example, when they have a fever, many children will have symptoms of convulsions, but some children just have a fever. However, we don’t know what a convulsion is. Let’s take a look at the symptoms of baby fever convulsions.

Sudden loss of consciousness, no response to external stimuli, eyes drooping, limb muscles shaking stiffly, purple face, foaming at the mouth, incontinence, etc. These are manifestations of convulsions.

Once parents find that their baby has symptoms of fever and convulsions, it is best to let the baby lie flat on the bed first to ensure that he will not touch any sharp, sharp or hard objects. In addition, physical cooling is required. You can place cold towels on the baby's forehead, palms, and thighs to help lower the body temperature. If the convulsions do not stop, you should go to the hospital immediately.

There is currently no good way to prevent it. Moreover, most febrile convulsions are benign convulsions that will not make children stupid, so generally no special treatment is required. If there is a history of febrile convulsions, physical cooling can be actively performed when fever occurs; when the body temperature is greater than 38.0℃, antipyretics (such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen, etc.) can be used.

Children's fever convulsions mainly manifest as whole-body or local muscle convulsions shortly after the onset of high fever (body temperature above 39°C) or when the body temperature rises suddenly, with eyeballs staring, squinting, straightening or rolling up, accompanied by loss of consciousness. Breathing may stop for 1-2 minutes. In severe cases, the lips may turn blue, and incontinence may sometimes occur.

Through the above content, we understand the symptoms of baby febrile convulsions. If we encounter such a situation or such symptoms in the future, we don’t have to be afraid, because we are all young parents and have no experience in raising children. These are the experiences given to us by our parents. We should still learn more about children’s diseases.
