How to supplement calcium for babies by sunbathing

We have all heard the saying, "The sun is a bag, it's good for your whole body to be exposed to the sun more." We know that sunbathing has many benefits. It can help improve mood, relieve stress, prolong life, lower blood pressure, protect blood vessels, etc. Many people feel irritable when it rains or is cloudy for a long time. This is because our sunshine time is reduced. We all know that sunbathing is good for calcium supplementation, so how can babies supplement calcium by sunbathing? Let’s take a look:

It is right to take children out to sunbathe frequently, but you must master the correct method. Children's skin is very delicate and easily hurt. Sunbathing does not mean exposing children to direct sunlight. When taking your baby to sunbathing, avoid going to crowded places and do not expose your child to the sun. Just let your child stay in the shade of a tree. If you can't find shade, give your child a hat and an umbrella. The time for babies to bask in the sun depends on the season. The sun is relatively mild in winter, so it is suitable for babies to bask in the sun more often outdoors. In winter, it is usually around 11-12 noon; in spring and autumn, it is usually between 10 and 11; in summer, it is usually between 9 and 10. The length of time spent in the sun should be gradually increased from 10 minutes to 30 minutes. Remember to hydrate after sun exposure. It is particularly emphasized that the exposure time should be gradually extended, from more than ten minutes to 1 hour. It is best to take a rest in the shade after sunbathing for a while. And give cool drinks or light salt water, or wipe the child's body with warm water.

Also, do not expose your baby to the sun through glass, because glass can block most of the ultraviolet rays and cannot effectively synthesize vitamin D. If your baby spends a long time outdoors and you are afraid of sunburn, you can apply children's sunscreen. Sunscreen can reduce the intensity of ultraviolet rays, but it cannot completely block the light, so it is still effective.

Through the above explanation, we understand how to correctly supplement calcium for babies by basking in the sun. Mothers should not blindly believe that sunbathing can supplement calcium in life. They must pay attention to the season and time of sunbathing, and take their babies out to sunbathe reasonably based on the actual situation of their family. Of course, in order to ensure adequate calcium intake, you still need to supplement some calcium supplements.
